J Class Ranger and Hyperion ran out respective winners in the IRC Performance and Traditional Pursuit classes in the recent Superyacht Cup Ulysse Nardin after a cracking final day's windward-leeward racing in Palma Bay. Hyperion took the famous Bent Cleat Trophy while Ranger picked up the Yachting World Performance Trophy for winning the final Abu Dhabi race day.

Namoh, on charter from IYC

International Yacht Collection (IYC) announced that broker Mark Elliott recently completed three sales transactions with a combined total of 470 linear feet, representing asking prices amounting to $64.5 million. The USA office has added the following to its charter fleet: 125ft Cheoy Lee Namoh (summer, New England area); two 112ft Westports, Kelly Sea and Lucky Seven (New England and Bahamas respectively), and 80ft Lazzara La Dolce Vita (Bahamas).

ICAP Leopard knocked eight hours off the
existing transatlantic record

ICAP Leopard, the 100ft super maxi yacht owned by Mike Slade, has broken the transatlantic speed record, completing the 2,925 nautical mile crossing from New York to the Lizard, England, in seven days, 19 hours and 21 minutes. This was eight hours better than the existing record. ICAP Leopard sailed at an average speed of 15.5 knots, and a top speed of 37.4 knots, to complete the crossing.

Bristolian sets sail with special Doyle Stratus sails

All black Bristolian with her all black sails

The 120ft Philippe Briand-designed sloop, Bristolian, has been launched by Yachting Developments in Auckland, New Zealand. This sleek looking ship with an all-black hull is constructed of composite materials, has a moderate beam and a draft of 5.25m which can be reduced to 3.25m with her 40-ton lifting keel. Once sea trials are complete she will be heading for Europe and the Mediterranean via the Indian Ocean and Suez Canal.

Burger has new 43m under contract

Burger 43m is due to launch in 2010

Burger Boat Company has been commissioned to build a new 43m (140ft) custom motor yacht. This vessel has been designed over the past 18 months by Burger's team in conjunction with an experienced yachting family who currently own their third Burger-built boat. This project also accomplishes Burger’s planned objective to start construction of one new yacht in mid-2008, with completion expected by mid-2010.
